Ontario Calendar 2027 with Statutory Holidays

Ontario’s nine public holidays

Section 1 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 lists them: New Year’s Day, Family Day on the third Monday of February, Good Friday, Victoria Day on the Monday before 25 May, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The calendar marks each in red on its date for 2027; the table under this text gives them all. The page moves on to the next year in September.

Weekend holidays

Ontario doesn’t move a holiday that falls on a weekend, with one exception: Canada Day on a Sunday is 2 July. Otherwise an employee whose day off it is gets a substitute working day off with holiday pay, which the employer schedules: the Ministry of Labour’s manual gives the example of Friday 30 June for a Canada Day on a Saturday. So the calendar marks the holiday on its date only. In 2027, check the table below for any that land on a Saturday or Sunday, and write your substitute day in once your employer sets it.

Days that aren’t public holidays

Several well-known days aren’t on the Act’s list: Easter Monday, the Civic Holiday in August (called Simcoe Day in Toronto), the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Remembrance Day. Federal offices, banks and schools may still close on some of them, so tick Fillable PDF or write them in if they matter for your workplace.

Other calendars

Federally regulated workplaces in Ontario, and every other province, are on the Canada calendar, and the West Coast’s list is on the British Columbia page. Use the calendar maker for anything else.
