Federal or provincial
Most people in Canada are covered by their province’s or territory’s employment standards law, not the Canada Labour Code, and the lists differ: British Columbia, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut have eleven statutory holidays, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador six. The calendar opens on the federal list. Pick your province or territory under Province or territory and the calendar, and the list under the preview, switch to its holidays for 2027.
How the dates are set
Most holidays are fixed dates or a Monday: Family Day on the third Monday of February, Victoria Day on the Monday before 25 May, the Civic Holiday on the first Monday of August, Labour Day on the first Monday of September and Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October. Good Friday moves with Easter. Canada Day is 1 July, or 2 July when 1 July is a Sunday (Holidays Act), and Quebec’s Fête nationale moves to 25 June when 24 June is a Sunday. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, 30 September, has been a federal holiday since 2021.
What’s in grey
Some days are marked but aren’t paid holidays in the chosen law: Alberta’s optional holidays (Easter Monday, Heritage Day, 30 September and Boxing Day), Quebec’s Easter Monday, which an employer may give instead of Good Friday, and Remembrance Day in Manitoba and Nova Scotia, which has its own act. In Manitoba and Yukon a weekend holiday also puts the next working day in red, since the law gives that day off.

The Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta calendars cover the four largest provinces in detail. The US holidays calendar covers the other side of the border, and the calendar maker prints any other range.
