How to play Meadow Clicker
Your meadow starts with one flower. Click or tap it to gather nectar, then spend the nectar on things that gather it for you. The number at the top of the meadow is your nectar; the line under it is how much your meadow makes every second.
- Click the flower. Each click gathers nectar. The first upgrade, Sturdy Stem, doubles it and costs only 50, so you can afford it within a few seconds.
- Buy generators. Worker Bees, Beehives, Flower Patches, Beekeepers, Orchards, Greenhouses, Apiaries, Lavender Fields, Honey Mills and Sky Gardens each make nectar every second. Every one you own makes the next 15% dearer. The ×1, ×10, ×100 and Max buttons choose how many one tap buys; Max buys as many as you can afford.
- Buy upgrades. Upgrades appear on the shelf above the generators as your meadow grows. A glowing one is affordable. Hover, focus or tap one to read what it does. They double a generator, add a share of your production to every click, make golden bees visit more often, or link two generators (Cross-Pollination: Orchards +1% for every Worker Bee).
- Catch golden bees. Every minute or two a golden bee buzzes across the meadow for about 13 seconds. Catch it for a Nectar Rush, a Pollen Storm (production ×7) or a Honey Frenzy (clicks ×77). On a keyboard, press G.
- Come back later. Close the tab and your meadow keeps working: when you return, a card shows what it gathered while you were away, up to 24 hours’ worth.
Seasons
The meadow turns through the year every five minutes of play, and the scene changes with it: blossom in spring, haze and pollen in summer, falling leaves in autumn and snow in winter. Each season has a small twist. Spring brings golden bees 30% more often, summer adds 15% to production, autumn makes generators 10% cheaper, and winter doubles your clicks and makes golden effects last 30% longer. Each season also sells a treat (Blossom Tea, Summer Sorbet, Apple Cider, Winter Mead) that adds 5% to production for the rest of the run, but only while its season lasts. The chip at the bottom of the meadow shows the season and how long it has left.
Crowning a new queen (prestige)
Once your meadow has gathered 20 billion nectar in all, the Queen panel lets you crown a new queen. Your nectar, generators and upgrades start over, and you earn Royal Jelly: the cube root of all the nectar you have ever gathered divided by 16 million, minus the jelly you already have. Every Royal Jelly earned adds 5% to all production for good, whether you spend it or not, so the second run is much quicker than the first.
Spend Royal Jelly on the queen’s fifteen skills. They branch in four directions, and early on you can only afford a few, so choose a style: active (Nimble Fingers triples clicks), golden (Golden Instinct, Lingering Luck, Storm Chaser and Golden Swarm), thrifty (Sweet Start, cheaper generators and upgrades, Royal Nectar) or idle (Quiet Meadow rewards not clicking, Long Nap and Hibernation keep more time away, Season Keeper pins your favourite season).
Tips
- Buy Self-Seeding Meadow once you own a Flower Patch: it adds 1% to production for every 10 minutes of the run, up to 40%, so your meadow keeps growing while you leave it alone.
- Early on, click a lot and buy the cheapest thing that adds the most per second. Upgrades that double a generator are usually the best buy the moment they appear.
- Don’t sit on nectar waiting for a Pollen Storm: a storm multiplies what you already own, so keep buying.
- A Honey Frenzy is the moment to click as fast as you can. Upgrades like Pollen Paddle add a share of your production to every click, so clicks stay useful all game.
- Achievements add 1% to production each, and three journal upgrades raise that. The Trophies panel lists what each one needs.
- Prestige when a reset would at least double the Royal Jelly you have earned so far; the first time, as soon as it opens.
- Want to know how fast you click? The mouse test measures clicks per second and double-clicks. For another kind of game, try 2048 or Minesweeper.
Saving, sharing and privacy
The game saves in this browser every few seconds and when you switch tabs; nothing is uploaded. Options has Copy save and Import save to move your meadow to another browser or keep a backup, a choice of short (1.23 M) or scientific (1.23e6) numbers, sound switches and a hard reset. Share result in the Stats panel makes a link with your nectar per second, prestiges and a picture of your meadow; the link holds only those numbers.
It also runs in a background tab and on a phone without draining the battery: while the meadow is hidden or scrolled out of view, the animations stop and the game only does a little arithmetic once a second. It follows your system’s reduced-motion setting, and every control works with a keyboard.
