What this page sets up

One month per page in landscape, January to December 2027, with thin ruled lines across every day box below the date. The lines are light enough to disappear under ink and dark enough to keep a list straight. Holidays follow your browser’s country, and the page moves on to the next year in September. Paper size, the first day of the week and the color are yours to change.

Getting the most writing room

  • Paper. A bigger sheet gives bigger boxes and more lines; the table below compares them.
  • Rows. A month that spans six weeks has shorter boxes than one that fits in five. There’s nothing to do about that except to plan the busy month on a bigger sheet.
  • Notes column. Ticking the notes section takes about a fifth of the page’s width from the day boxes, so leave it off if every day is busy.
  • Layout. With 2 to 6 months per page the boxes shrink and the lines close up to about 3.5 mm apart, which suits a word or two per line rather than full notes.

Writing tips

A fine pen (0.3 to 0.5 mm) or a sharp pencil suits the spacing. Keep one line per entry, with the time first, and use the last line of each box for the day’s to-do or a tick box. If you share the calendar on a wall, a different color for each person is easier to read than initials.

For boxes with no lines to type into, open the fillable calendar; for larger boxes, the 11 × 17 calendar; for an undated grid you can reuse, the blank calendar template. Everything else starts from the calendar maker.

Writing space by paper size

One month per page in landscape, with no notes column. Most months need five rows of weeks; a month that needs six gets shorter boxes, and on the larger sheets a line fewer.
