Asr
First day of Ramadan

A day earlier isn't expected: the new moon is at 15:56 UTC on Saturday 6 February, too young to be seen by eye that evening.

More options: Imsak, clock, high latitudes, adjust to your mosque

Only used where the sun doesn't go far enough below the horizon for the method's Fajr or Isha angle, or where it would put them unreasonably deep into the night (far north or south). Times it changes are underlined.

Adjust to match your mosque (minutes)

Ramadan begins when the new crescent moon is sighted, or on the date your community's calendar sets, so it can start a day later in some countries and mosques. Choose the first day your mosque or moon-sighting committee announces. These times are calculated: check them against your local mosque's timetable.

Sehri and iftar in Slough

Slough sits in the Thames Valley at 51.5° north, the same latitude as London, so its fasts are as long as London’s to within a minute or two: 11 h 28 m on the first day (05:36 to 17:04) and 13 h 17 m by day 30 (04:39 to 17:56), all in GMT.

Checked against a Slough timetable

The table opens with the Muslim World League convention (Fajr at 18°, Isha at 17°) and Hanafi Asr. We compared it with the Ramadan 2026 timetable of the Slough Islamic Trust (Jamia Ghousia Masjid and Islamic Centre). Its Fajr agrees with 18° within two minutes on every day and its Asr, printed for the Hanafi school only, within a minute; its sunrise is up to three minutes earlier than ours.

Three columns on that timetable follow the masjid’s own rules rather than an angle, and you can reproduce them:

  • Suhoor Reminder, 10 minutes before Fajr, with the note that sehri is advised to finish 10 minutes before Fajr and the fast begins at Fajr. Add an Imsak column of 10 minutes under More options.
  • Iftar, 4 minutes after sunset. Set Maghrib to +4 under Adjust to match your mosque.
  • Isha, always 90 minutes after iftar in Ramadan 2026. With 17° Isha comes about 1 hour 45 minutes after sunset in Slough throughout Ramadan 2027, while the masjid’s Isha came 94 minutes after sunset (4 plus 90), so an Isha adjustment of about −12 minutes brings it close; compare the first days and correct by a minute if needed.

Nearby

Slough’s times are within a couple of minutes of the London timetable; Maidenhead and Reading run a little later, Hounslow a little earlier. Search for your town at the top of the tool. If your masjid begins on Tuesday 9 February 2027, choose it under First day of Ramadan before you print.
