Suhoor and iftar in Nairobi
Nairobi is only 1.3° south of the equator, so the day is almost the same length all year and the Ramadan timetable changes by only a few minutes over the month. On Monday 8 February 2027, the first day in the Umm al-Qura calendar, suhoor ends at 05:31 and iftar is at 18:52, a fast of 13 h 21 m. On day 30 suhoor ends at 05:31 and iftar is at 18:47, 13 h 16 m. Kenya uses East Africa Time (UTC+3) all year.
The page opens with the Muslim World League convention (Fajr at 18°, Isha at 17°) and standard Asr, which most Kenyan mosques follow; the Shafi’i school is the most common in East Africa. If your mosque uses Hanafi Asr or another Fajr angle, change it above. Near the equator the sun drops quickly, so the difference between methods is smaller than in Europe: a few minutes for each degree of angle.
Other Kenyan towns
Kenya is wide from east to west, and that matters more here than latitude. The coast, Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu, breaks the fast earlier than Nairobi; Kisumu and western Kenya later. Search for your town at the top of the tool: Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Garissa and Lamu are in the list. Each timetable can be printed on A4 or added to your phone’s calendar with a reminder before suhoor ends and at iftar.
