Sehri and iftar in Karachi
Karachi is at 24.9° north, so the days lengthen slowly: the roza grows by well under an hour over the month. On the first day, Monday 8 February 2027 in the Umm al-Qura calendar, sehri ends at 05:53 and iftar is at 18:21, a fast of 12 h 28 m. On day 30 sehri ends at 05:32 and iftar is at 18:38, 13 h 06 m. Pakistan doesn’t use daylight saving time, so all times are Pakistan Standard Time (UTC+5).
The page uses the method of the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi (Fajr and Isha when the sun is 18° below the horizon), which most Pakistani timetables follow, and Hanafi Asr. Masajid often print sehri a few minutes before this Fajr time as a precaution, and Isha and tarawih at a fixed time. Add an Imsak column under More options to show a precautionary sehri end.
Moon sighting in Pakistan
The first roza depends on the moon. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets on 29 Sha’ban and announces whether the crescent was seen. If it wasn’t, Sha’ban completes 30 days and Ramadan begins the day after. Select the first day under First day of Ramadan once it is announced, and download the PDF again.
Eid ul-Fitr is the day after the last roza, again decided by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. Day 30 in the table is only fasted if the Shawwal moon isn’t seen after the 29th roza.
