Sehri and iftar in Bolton
Bolton, at 53.6° north, keeps within a minute of Manchester all month, about 17 km to its south-east. The first fast of Ramadan 2027 is 11 h 21 m long (05:44 to 17:05); the last, 13 h 19 m (04:43 to 18:02), about two hours longer, as Fajr moves about an hour earlier and sunset about an hour later. All of it is GMT.
Comparing with a Bolton calendar
The table opens with Fajr and Isha at 18° (the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi convention) and Hanafi Asr. We checked it against the year-round prayer calendar Azhar Academy in Bolton publishes on Mawaqit, read for February and March and checked in September 2026:
- Sunrise: within a minute of ours.
- Asr (Hanafi): within a minute.
- Maghrib (iftar): 4 to 5 minutes after our sunset.
- Fajr (end of sehri): 16 to 19 minutes after our Fajr.
- Isha: 25 minutes or more before our Isha.
Sunrise and Asr agreeing shows the place and the sun are right; the differences are the masjid’s conventions. Its Fajr sits between 18° and 15° (the ISNA angle), about 4 minutes before the 15° time. This page keeps the earlier 18° Fajr, so following it you never eat past your masjid’s Fajr, but you do stop earlier than you need to. If you pray at Azhar Academy or a masjid with a similar calendar, open More options and set Fajr and Maghrib under Adjust to match your mosque to the differences you see in the first few days; the PDF and the calendar file will then match.
The start of the month
The first day depends on which moon-sighting decision your masjid follows. If it begins on Tuesday 9 February 2027, pick that under First day of Ramadan, and the dates on every row, the printout and the calendar events move with it.
