Sehri and iftar in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is at 17.4° north on the Deccan plateau, near enough to the equator that the roza barely lengthens through Ramadan 2027, from 12 h 43 m to 13 h 08 m. Sehri moves by only a quarter of an hour over the month, from 05:32 to 05:17, and iftar by ten minutes, from 18:15 to 18:25. India has a single time zone and no daylight saving time, and Hyderabad’s iftar falls about 20 minutes before Mumbai’s.
Fajr, sunset and the precautions
The table gives the astronomical times: sehri ends at Fajr, when the sun is 18° below the horizon (the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method), and iftar is at sunset. Asr is the Hanafi time, the tool’s default for India.
We compared it with a Hyderabad sehri and iftar table published for Ramadan 2026 by a local site, Bajrai Online. Its timings run consistently apart from ours: sehri about 10 minutes before our Fajr, iftar about 5 minutes after our sunset. That is the pattern of a calendar with precautions (ihtiyat) built in, rather than a different calculation, and it is the reason two Hyderabad calendars can disagree by several minutes while both being right about the sun. You can print either version:
- For the astronomical times, use the table as it is.
- For a calendar with precautions, open More options, add an Imsak column of 10 minutes, and set Maghrib to +5 under Adjust to match your mosque. Match the numbers to your masjid’s calendar if it uses other margins.
Moon sighting and Eid
The Bajrai Online table numbered 19 February 2026 as the first roza, and this page starts on the Umm al-Qura date, Monday 8 February 2027. Wait for the local announcement and set First day of Ramadan to match it. Eid ul-Fitr falls the day after the last roza. Download the PDF on A4, or add the 60 sehri and iftar times to your phone’s calendar.
