Asr
First day of Ramadan

A day earlier isn't expected: the new moon is at 15:56 UTC on Saturday 6 February, too young to be seen by eye that evening.

More options: Imsak, clock, high latitudes, adjust to your mosque

Only used where the sun doesn't go far enough below the horizon for the method's Fajr or Isha angle, or where it would put them unreasonably deep into the night (far north or south). Times it changes are underlined.

Adjust to match your mosque (minutes)

Ramadan begins when the new crescent moon is sighted, or on the date your community's calendar sets, so it can start a day later in some countries and mosques. Choose the first day your mosque or moon-sighting committee announces. These times are calculated: check them against your local mosque's timetable.

Suhoor and iftar in London

Ramadan 2027 falls in late winter in London, so the fasts are short. On the first day, Monday 8 February 2027 in the Umm al-Qura calendar, suhoor ends at 05:34 and iftar is at 17:02, a fast of 11 h 28 m. The days lengthen quickly in February and early March: by day 30 suhoor ends at 04:38 and iftar is at 17:54, a fast of 13 h 16 m. The timetable above shows every day with all five prayers.

Which method to choose in London

At 51.5° north, the sun sinks slowly below the horizon, so the angle a method uses for Fajr and Isha moves those times a lot. This page opens with the Muslim World League (18° for Fajr, 17° for Isha), the most common international setting. Many British mosques use the Moonsighting Committee Worldwide’s seasonal tables instead, which give a later Fajr in winter, and South Asian mosques often use Hanafi Asr. Maghrib, and so iftar, is sunset in every Sunni method, so it hardly changes between them.

If your mosque’s printed timetable differs by a few minutes, open More options and use Adjust to match your mosque: the PDF and the calendar file then carry your mosque’s times.

When Ramadan starts in the UK

UK mosques follow different decisions: some start with Saudi Arabia, some wait for a sighting in the UK or a neighbouring country, and others follow Morocco or the local council of mosques. If your mosque announces Tuesday 9 February 2027, choose it under First day of Ramadan and every date moves. Eid al-Fitr is Tuesday 9 March 2027 or Wednesday 10 March 2027 with a Monday 8 February 2027 start, depending on whether the month has 29 or 30 days.
