Suhoor and iftar in New York City
New York is at 40.7° north, and Ramadan 2027 runs from late winter into March, so the fasts start short and grow by more than an hour over the month: 11 h 40 m on Monday 8 February 2027, when suhoor ends at 05:42, and 12 h 53 m by day 30, when it ends at 05:03. Every time is in Eastern Standard Time: the clocks go forward on 14 March 2027, after Eid.
The page opens with the Islamic Society of North America convention (Fajr and Isha when the sun is 15° below the horizon) and standard Asr, a common calculation in North America and the tool’s default for the US and Canada. It isn’t a New York mosque’s own timetable: the one Manhattan calendar we found (Masjid Manhattan’s page on Mawaqit, checked in September 2026) shows exactly the ISNA times, which may simply be Mawaqit’s calculation, so treat this as a starting point and compare it with your mosque’s printed times. Mosques that follow the Muslim World League (18°) or the Moonsighting Committee’s seasonal tables give an earlier Fajr, so check which one yours uses before you print. Hanafi Asr is under Asr.
Across the five boroughs
The table is for Lower Manhattan. The city is small from east to west, so sunset, and iftar, differs by less than two minutes between Staten Island and eastern Queens, and suhoor by about the same. For Jersey City, Newark, Paterson or Yonkers, search for the town at the top of the tool: the times are computed for its own coordinates. Toronto, on the same clock but far to the west, breaks the fast 16 to 20 minutes later.
Start and end of the month
In New York, as elsewhere in the US, the first fast depends on whose decision a mosque follows: a calculated calendar, Saudi Arabia’s announcement or a sighting in North America. The table starts on Monday 8 February 2027, the Umm al-Qura date; if your mosque announces Tuesday 9 February 2027, change First day of Ramadan and every date moves. Download the PDF on Letter paper, or add the times to your phone’s calendar with a reminder before suhoor ends.
