Sehri and iftar in Manchester
Manchester lies 2° north of London, so its February days start shorter and lengthen faster. Iftar moves from 17:05 on Monday 8 February 2027 to 18:01 on day 30, and sehri from 05:43 to 04:42: the fast grows from 11 h 22 m to 13 h 19 m. Compared with the London timetable, the first iftar is about 3 minutes later and the first sehri almost 10 minutes later, because the sun rises later this far north in winter. All times are GMT.
What Manchester masjids print
We compared the table with the year-round prayer calendars two Manchester masjids publish on Mawaqit, Masjid e Iqbal and Madina Masjid in Levenshulme, read for February and March and checked in September 2026. They agree with each other closely, and with the sun: their sunrise is within a minute of ours, and their Asr is the Hanafi time (Mithl 2), which is why this page opens with Hanafi Asr. Where they differ from a plain calculation is at the edges of the fast:
- Fajr is 14 to 18 minutes later than at 18° (the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi convention this page uses). Neither 18° nor 15° reproduces it: it falls between the two, 4 to 6 minutes before the 15° time.
- Maghrib, and so iftar, is printed 2 to 5 minutes after sunset, a margin of safety.
- Isha is well before the 18° time.
The page keeps 18° because it ends sehri earlier, never later, than those timetables. To follow your masjid exactly, open More options and, under Adjust to match your mosque, set the Fajr and Maghrib differences you see between its calendar and this table. The PDF and calendar file then carry your masjid’s times.
