Sehri and iftar in Birmingham
In Birmingham the first fast of Ramadan 2027, on Monday 8 February 2027 in the Umm al-Qura calendar, runs from 05:41 to 17:07, 11 h 26 m in all. The last days of the month are longer: day 30 runs from 04:43 to 18:01, 13 h 18 m. All times are in GMT; the clocks don’t go forward until after Eid.
Birmingham has one of the largest Muslim communities in Britain, and its mosques don’t all print the same timetable. The differences come from three settings, all of which you can change above:
- The Fajr convention. This page opens with the Muslim World League’s 18°. Mosques using the Moonsighting Committee’s seasonal tables show a later Fajr in February, and some mosques set sehri a few minutes before Fajr as a precaution. Add an Imsak column under More options if yours does.
- The Asr school. Mosques of the Hanafi school, common among Birmingham’s South Asian communities, pray Asr later. Pick Hanafi under Asr.
- The first day. Some mosques start with Saudi Arabia, others after a local or regional sighting. If yours announces Tuesday 9 February 2027, select it and the whole table moves by a day.
When your mosque publishes its own timetable, follow it. You can match this one to it with Adjust to match your mosque, then print it or add it to your phone’s calendar.
