Sehri and iftar in Delhi
Delhi is at 28.7° north, far enough from the equator that the roza grows by about three quarters of an hour during Ramadan 2027: from 12 h 21 m on the first day to 13 h 06 m on the thirtieth, as sehri moves from 05:45 to 05:20 and iftar from 18:06 to 18:26. India keeps Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year, so there are no clock changes to watch for.
The table uses the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr and Isha at 18°) with Hanafi Asr, the tool’s default for India. We compared it with the Delhi sehri and iftar table the Sunday Guardian published for Ramadan 2026: sehri agrees within a minute and iftar within two on every day. That table has no margin of safety built in; a masjid calendar may add one.
One time zone, very different iftar times
India runs on a single clock, so how far east a city lies shows up directly in its iftar time. Delhi breaks the fast about half an hour before Mumbai at the start of Ramadan 2027, and about 20 minutes before by the end, while cities in the east of the country are earlier still. Hyderabad, further south, starts about 9 minutes after Delhi and ends the month about 1 minute before it. A Delhi calendar is no use elsewhere: search for your city in the tool.
Moon sighting
The first roza follows the moon-sighting announcement. In 2026 the Markazi Chand Committee in Lucknow announced the first roza for Thursday 19 February, as Gulf News reported, a day after the Umm al-Qura date. If Tuesday 9 February 2027 is announced this year, choose it under First day of Ramadan, then download the A4 PDF or add the sehri and iftar times to your phone’s calendar. Eid ul-Fitr is the day after the last roza.
