Jotun paints, with packs to match
Fenomastic My Home Rich Matt is the starting paint in the paint calculator here. It is set to 10.3 m² per litre, the figure Jotun’s UAE product page shows, and buys in the 1, 4 and 18 litre packs its data sheet lists. Pick Wonderwall Lux or My Home Smooth Silk for interiors, or switch to House exterior for the Jotashield paints, and the coverage and packs change with it.
Enter each room’s size in metres, set the doors and windows, and the result shows the litres and the packs with the least left over. A whole flat can add up to an 18 litre pail plus a 4; the fewer-packs option shows when one more large pack would be simpler.
Spreading rate and film thickness
Jotun publishes coverage as a theoretical spreading rate: a range, where the high figure is a thin film and the low figure a thick one. The product pages show one number between the two, and that is what the calculator starts with; the source line under the coverage box also gives the full range. If your painter applies a heavier coat, or the wall is rough or porous, type the low end instead.
Primer and extra coats
Jotun specifies its paints as a system: for Rich Matt, 1 coat of Fenomastic Emulsion Primer and 2 coats of the topcoat. Switch on Primer first and enter the primer’s rate from its data sheet to get it as a separate line. The Wonderwall Lux data sheet also warns that some bright or dark colours and big colour changes may need an extra coat, so set Coats to 3 for those.

What one room takes in each
Two coats. Rooms: 4 × 3.5 m room with 2.5 m walls, one door, one window, walls and ceiling (ceiling only for a ceiling paint). Outside: 8 × 10 m house with 5.2 m walls and two gables.
