Two witch stencils
The page opens on the witch on a broom. She is cut out as one connected silhouette: hat, head, cloak, boot and the broom with its bristles, flying across a big shaved moon, with two small stars. The summary under the preview counts three holes and no bridges at every size: her cloak, sleeve and boot overlap the broomstick, and the hat brim overlaps her head and hair, so no sliver of pumpkin is trapped between the parts. At the default medium size it prints about 6 × 4.8 inches.
The witch hat is in the picker too, just before the witch on a broom. It is a pointed hat with a curled tip, a wide brim and a square buckle. It has a single hole to cut, and the tool adds one bridge to hold the middle of the buckle.
Carving the witch on a broom
- Poke the outline of the witch, the broom and the moon.
- Cut the witch in sections: the hat and head first, then the cloak and boot, then the broomstick and bristles. Push each piece in from the front instead of pulling it out.
- Score the edge of the moon and shave the skin inside it, working around the witch without pressing on the pointed wedge between her cloak and the broomstick.
- Cut the two stars last.
The hat’s tip and the pointed nose are the finest parts. Pick the Large size if your pumpkin is big enough; every part gets wider with it.
More designs
The cat stencils include a cat in front of a shaved moon in the same style, and the moon and stars design is a simpler moon to start with.
