Easy designs on this page
The page opens on the bat, a single silhouette with one cut. The classic jack-o’-lantern and the happy face each have four holes. The sitting cat is one shape, the moon and stars is a crescent and three stars, and the ghost is three holes in a shaved body.
Carving with children
The American Academy of Pediatrics advises letting small children decorate pumpkins rather than carve them, for example drawing the face with markers, and leaving the carving and cutting to adults (HealthyChildren.org Halloween safety tips, last updated October 14, 2025). A good split of jobs:
- An adult cuts the lid and scoops; children help pull out the seeds.
- Children tape the printed stencil on; older children can poke the outline with a pin tool while an adult watches.
- An adult cuts along the dots with a small pumpkin saw, which is safer than a kitchen knife and easier to steer round curves.
Getting a clean result
Pick Wide bridges if you change any settings, since soft or thin-walled pumpkins break more easily. Print at 100% and check the 1-inch bar at the bottom of the page. To light it, the same AAP page suggests a battery-operated flameless candle, a flashlight or a glow stick instead of a candle.
