The Moon first touches the Sun at about 07:41 in the north, totality sweeps across the Tangier–Tetouan region and the Rif between 08:44 and 08:53, and the partial eclipse is over by about 10:07. All times on this page are Moroccan legal time, which has been GMT (UTC+0) since 20 September 2026, with no summer change. Eclipse tables published earlier often used GMT+1. If a phone, a camera or another website disagrees by exactly one hour, that is why. The simulator uses the offset in force on the day, fixed when the site is built, so a device that hasn’t updated its time zone data can’t shift it.
The southern edge of the path
The path’s southern limit crosses the Gharb plain and runs past Souk El Arbaa (about 1 min 38 s) and passes north of Taza (98.9%). Kenitra (99.2%), Rabat (98.5%), Fez (98.3%) and Meknes (97.9%) stay just outside, so visitors based there need to travel north for totality: from Rabat, Ksar El Kebir or Larache are the nearest towns with several minutes.
At the time of totality the Sun is 38° to 42° high in the east. Eclipse glasses stay on for the whole partial phase and come off only between the second and third contact times shown for your place.
