A 7 team round robin takes seven rounds: three games each round and one team on a bye, so every team plays six games and rests exactly once. The page opens with seven teams; paste your names over Team 1 to Team 7 and the schedule, the table and the printout use them.
The seven rounds
| Round | Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3 | Bye |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 v 7 | 3 v 6 | 4 v 5 | 1 |
| 2 | 6 v 4 | 7 v 3 | 1 v 2 | 5 |
| 3 | 3 v 1 | 4 v 7 | 5 v 6 | 2 |
| 4 | 7 v 5 | 1 v 4 | 2 v 3 | 6 |
| 5 | 4 v 2 | 5 v 1 | 6 v 7 | 3 |
| 6 | 1 v 6 | 2 v 5 | 3 v 4 | 7 |
| 7 | 5 v 3 | 6 v 2 | 7 v 1 | 4 |
The first-named team is home. Each team has three home and three away games, and the bye moves through the field rather than following the list order.
Planning around the bye
Three courts or fields play a round at once, so the event is seven slots long. The resting team is printed under each round, which makes it easy to give them a job: referee, scorekeeper, or the next round’s equipment. Over a season, one round a week makes a seven-week league with one week off for every team; set Rounds per day to 1 and the printout gives each week its own page.
Reading the table mid-way
Until the last round, teams have played different numbers of games, because the bye has fallen at different times. Read the P (played) column before comparing points: a team two points behind with a game in hand is level in practice. Ties at the end are settled by head-to-head, then score difference. Need a winner quickly from seven? Seed a bracket from the final table: a seven-team knockout gives seed 1 a bye.
