Spinning a number
The wheel opens with every whole number from 1 to 100, each on its own slice. Press Spin (or Space) and the wheel lands on one of them; the number is announced and added to the results. With 100 slices the labels are small, so the result pop-up and the pointer are the place to read it; on a phone, turn the device sideways or use Full screen for bigger slices.
Setting the range you need
Most uses need a smaller range, and a smaller wheel is easier to watch:
- 1 to 10: delete lines 11 to 100. Good for choosing a question number, a team of the day or a quick “guess my number”.
- 1 to 20 or 1 to 30: a class roster by register number, or the day of the month.
- 1 to 50: raffle tickets for a small event, or picking a random page from a short book.
The entries box is plain text, one number per line, so you can paste any list you made elsewhere, such as the ticket numbers actually sold.
Drawing without repeats
For bingo-style calling or ticket draws, open Options and set winners to Hide. Each number then leaves the wheel after it’s drawn and appears in the results history in the order it came out, so you can read the calls back at the end. Put all back, under the entries, returns every hidden number to the wheel. If you’d rather keep numbers on the wheel and just see the latest result, leave it on Keep it on the wheel.
Wheel or plain random number?
A random number generator gives the same fair result instantly; the wheel is for when people are watching. Spinning on a projector or a shared screen makes the draw visible to the whole room, which matters more for a raffle or a class game than the extra few seconds. For a d100 with dice instead, try the percentile dice roller.
