Medium or large?
The Siberian Husky standard crosses two of the calculator’s size bands. Females (35 to 50 lb) are squarely medium; males (45 to 60 lb) start in medium and finish in large. This page opens on the medium-breed curve, made from breeds that usually weigh 25 to 50 lb when grown, because the middle of the whole standard, about 47 lb, falls there.
The choice changes the answer. A 14.5 lb pup at 12 weeks comes out near 48 lb on the medium curve, between 36 and 68 lb, and near 55 lb on the large one, because a large-breed puppy of the same age has a smaller share of its adult weight behind it. For a male from big parents, compare both: the truth is likely in between.
Husky growth, month by month
The chart below tracks two Huskies bound for 52.5 lb (male) and 42.5 lb (female). On the medium curve a pup carries about 30% of its adult weight at 12 weeks, 43% at 16 weeks and 68% at six months. The male on this path is near 46 lb at one year and 49 lb at 18 months, still filling out a little.
If you’re unsure whether your Husky is on track, a vet’s hands-on look at body condition tells you more about a growing dog than any number on the scale.
