Waves, ready to play
Press Play and the sea rolls in. Each wave breaks with a rush of foam and washes back up the sand before the next one arrives, about every four to five seconds, a little different each time, as on a real shore. A light wind at 20% adds air above the water.
The waves are a real stereo recording made on a beach, so it sounds wide and open, as if you were standing at the water’s edge with the foam around your feet. It downloads once when you first play it. Watch the ridges on the screen rise with each breaking wave and settle as it pulls back.
Shape your beach
- Calm bay: ocean at about 40%, no wind, tone turned down.
- Windy shore: raise the wind and turn the tone up for more spray.
- Night beach: add night crickets at a low level.
- Rainy coast: add rain.
The waves also make a steady rhythm to breathe with: some people breathe in over one wave and out over the next.
For sleep and focus
Set a sleep timer with a fade-out so the sea quietly drifts away, or leave it playing while you work to cover the noise around you. Press Share result to send your version of the beach as a link that opens the mix.
