How to list the ZIP codes in a radius
This page opens with a 10-mile circle and the ZIP codes inside a circle panel open. Type a ZIP code (60601, or a ZIP+4 such as 60601-1234) or a town in the search box and press Enter to put the center there, or click the map. Change the radius in the box above the map: 25 for a 25-mile radius, or several values such as 5, 10, 25 for rings, then pick which circle to list from the Circle menu.
The table shows each ZIP code with its place name and state and its straight-line distance from the center. Download CSV gives every ZIP code in the circle with latitude, longitude and distance, for a mailing list, a delivery zone or an ad campaign’s location targeting. Copy list copies the codes separated by commas, the format most ad platforms and CRMs accept.
How a ZIP code counts as inside
Each ZIP code is represented by the internal point of its ZIP Code Tabulation Area from the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer, a point inside the area near its middle. A ZIP code is listed when that point is inside the circle. For small city ZIP codes this matches the area almost exactly; for large rural ones, part of the ZIP code may stick out of the circle, or a ZIP code may reach into the circle without being listed. Widen the radius a little if you need the fringe.
ZCTAs are the Census Bureau’s approximation of the ZIP codes people live in. The US Postal Service changes ZIP codes from time to time, and ZIP codes for PO boxes or a single building have no ZCTA, so check a mailing list against USPS data before a large send.
Loading only what you need
The ZIP code list is split into ten regional parts by the first digit of the ZIP code (0 for New England to 9 for the West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii), about 30–47 KB each when compressed. A circle loads only the parts it can reach, so a circle in Chicago downloads one or two parts, never the whole country. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
