This page is set up for one job: saving a video’s exact last frame as a lossless PNG at the video’s full resolution. Drop the video and press Extract the last frame. You can also take the first frame, or any frame you step to in the preview.

Chaining AI video clips

Image-to-video models such as Veo, Kling, Runway and Sora generate a few seconds at a time. To make a longer shot, you feed the last frame of one clip in as the first frame of the next. Two things decide whether the join is invisible:

  1. It must really be the last frame. If you use a frame from a few frames earlier, the next clip starts slightly in the past and the motion jumps back at the cut.
  2. It must not lose quality. A screenshot or a JPG adds blur and blockiness that the model treats as part of the picture and carries forward, clip after clip.

The tool seeks to the last keyframe, decodes from there with your browser’s WebCodecs decoder and saves the last frame in presentation order, the one that shows at the very end, as a PNG with the video’s own pixel size. The file name ends with the frame’s exact time, such as _last_00-00-07.958.png, so you can check it against your editor.

First frame and any frame

First frame saves the opening frame the same way, useful for thumbnails and for checking the start of a generated clip. For any other moment, pause the preview, step with ◀ Frame and Frame ▶, and press Grab this frame. Every frame you take lands in the grid below, and Download all (ZIP) saves them together.

If the last frame looks black or faded

Many edited videos end with a fade to black, and some generated clips degrade in their final frames. In that case the true last frame is not the one you want: step back a few frames in the preview and grab the last clean one instead. The time in each file name tells you how far from the end it is.
