Office Secret Santa Generator

Set up for work: a $25 budget, a note about the team party and No swaps on. Add your coworkers, draw, and DM everyone their private reveal link.

Add at least 3 people.

2. Who can't draw whom? (optional)
    3. Event details shown on every reveal (optional)
Nothing is sent anywhere: the draw happens in your browser.

To run an office Secret Santa, list everyone who’s taking part, draw names here and send each colleague a private link that shows only their own match. Colleagues don’t sign up for anything, and the names never leave your computer. Here the form is already filled in for work: a $25 budget, a note about the team party, and No swaps ticked so two coworkers never draw each other. Change any of it before you draw.

Setting it up for a team

    1. Ask first, then list. Make taking part optional: post a sign-up message in the team channel with the budget and the party date, and list only the people who reply. A gift exchange someone feels pushed into is no fun for the person buying for them.
    2. Add rules for pairs who shouldn’t draw each other, such as a manager and their direct report, or two colleagues who already swap presents. Keep Both ways ticked.
    3. Set the budget in your currency and add the exchange date. Both appear on every reveal card, so nobody can say they didn’t know.
    4. Draw, then send each link as a direct message. Each row’s Copy message button puts a short greeting plus that colleague’s link on your clipboard, ready to paste into Slack or Teams.

Keep a backup with Download links: someone always loses theirs the day before the party.

    A short questionnaire helps

Coworkers often know little about each other outside work. Ask everyone to answer a few questions in the sign-up thread or a shared document, and their Secret Santa can use them:

    • Coffee, tea or neither?
    • A snack or treat you’d never say no to.
    • Something you collect, or a hobby you’d like to try.
    • Anything you can’t have: allergies, alcohol, scented products.
    • A gift you’d rather not get.

    Keeping it work-friendly

A clear message saves awkward moments: say “work-friendly” in the note (it’s already in the one on this page), and suggest that gag gifts stay kind. If people work in different places, agree whether gifts are brought in, posted, or ordered to the office, and set the date with enough time for delivery.

Planning the party too? Print Christmas bingo cards for a round between gifts, or use the wheel spinner to decide who opens their gift first.
