A blank bracket is a sheet with the games drawn and nothing filled in, so you can write the teams and winners by hand as the event goes. This page opens with the Blank bracket option ticked; set the number of teams, then download the PDF or PNG.
What prints on a blank sheet
- An empty box for both teams of every game, drawn in the same shape as the bracket on screen.
- Seed numbers on the first-round lines in a seeded bracket, so the top seed goes on 1 and plays the line marked 16.
- “Bye” on the lines that skip a round, when the team count isn’t 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64.
- A line for the tournament name at the top and an empty champion box.
Choosing the size
| Teams | Games | First round |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 7 | 4 games |
| 12 | 11 | 4 games, 4 byes |
| 16 | 15 | 8 games |
| 24 | 23 | 8 games, 8 byes |
| 32 | 31 | 16 games |
Sizes in between print with their byes already placed. For two chances per team, switch the format to Double elimination: the losers’ bracket prints with “Loser of W…” in each empty slot, so whoever runs the event knows where to write each team next.
Tips
Print at 100% scale on landscape Letter or A4. A 16-team blank leaves room for long names; at 64 teams a fine pen helps. If you type the names on screen first and untick Blank bracket, the same sheet prints filled in instead.
