How kids play
The rules are the same as for grown-ups, just with easier words. All players but one see the same word; the odd one out is the imposter. Going round the circle, each child says one word about the secret word: for “Dinosaur”, that could be “roar”, “big” or “bones”. Then everyone points at who they think is the imposter, and the reveal shows if they were right.
The Kids pack is selected for you: 50 everyday words (animals, food, vehicles, toys, weather), each shown as a big picture on the card, and the imposter’s card shows a question mark picture of the same size, in a new shape and colour each round. For church groups there’s also a Bible for kids pack with pictures. It’s set for 4 players, a simple hint word for the imposter and two-minute rounds; add more players with the + button.
Making it work for younger players
- Reading help: a grown-up can hold the phone and whisper the word, as long as they don’t play that round.
- One clue each: for small children, one round of clues is enough before voting. Skip the timer by setting it to No timer.
- Talk about clues: after the reveal, ask which clue gave the imposter away. It’s a fun way to practise describing words.
- Short games: three or four rounds are plenty. Use Play again: the players stay, and a new word and imposter are drawn each time.
Good for
Rainy afternoons, car breaks, birthday parties and family dinners: anywhere you have one phone and three or more players.

Each word with the hint the imposter sees when “Imposter sees” is set to “A hint word”. Reading the list spoils the game for whoever reads it, so let the person who reads it sit out the first round, or add your own words.
