Squares that raise money
Super Bowl squares works well as a fundraiser for a school, a booster club, a youth team or a charity: everyone understands the board, a square costs less than a raffle book, and the game keeps people watching to the final whistle. This page opens the board set up for that: $20 a square, payouts of 10% for the first quarter, 10% at halftime, 10% for the third quarter and 20% for the final, and the other 50% shown as “For the cause” right next to the pot. On a full board that’s a $2,000 pot, $1,000 in prizes and $1,000 raised.
Running it
- Name the pool after your cause (“Lincoln High Band Squares”), so it prints on the board.
- Sell squares. Add each buyer to the player list, with “x5” for someone who buys five, and click Auto-fill board to place them at random, or click squares to put names exactly where buyers asked.
- Collect the money as you sell. The pot and the amount for the cause update with every square.
- Draw the numbers once the board is full. They stay hidden until then, so nobody can pick the lucky digits, and the board locks.
- Print or share the board: print it for the hallway or the clubhouse, or share the link in your group chat.
Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday, February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Start selling a few weeks before, and fill in the two teams’ names once the conference championships are over.
Choosing the split
The 50/50 split is the easiest to explain. If you’d like bigger prizes to sell squares faster, pay out more and keep less: with 15/15/15/25 the prizes take 70% and 30% goes to the cause. Pick Custom and type any four percentages; as long as they add up to less than 100%, the rest is shown as the cause’s share. Rules for games of chance run by schools, clubs and charities differ by state and country, so check yours before you start selling.
After the game
Enter the score at the end of each quarter and the winning square lights up, with its prize. Pay the winners, and post the final board with the total raised: a share link shows everyone how the pool ended. For a regular office or family pool without a cause, use the main Super Bowl squares board.
The money on a full board
| 100 squares × $20 | $2,000 |
|---|---|
| 1st quarter (10%) | $200 |
| Halftime (end of Q2) (10%) | $200 |
| 3rd quarter (10%) | $200 |
| Final (incl. OT) (20%) | $400 |
| For the cause (50%) | $1,000 |
Change any of it above. Your board is saved in this browser for this page only, separately from the main Super Bowl squares board.
